Dermatoglyphics [meaning - skin carvings], a name coined by Harold Cummins, MD, in 1926, is the scientific term for the study of fingerprints. Examining embryonic hands, Dr. Cumin documented the emergence of 11 ball-like structures at the eight week after conception. These ‘volar pads’ will later become the thumb, finger and six sections of the palmar surface. At the fourteenth week the skin corrugations [fingerprints] begin to appear forming a topographic – like map of the developing fetal hand.

Our finger prints are unique, unchanging and formed five months before birth. Fingerprints are genetic patterning; scientist found that fingerprints and human neocortex develop simultaneously. Finger prints have a life purpose statement. We unknowingly live them when our environment supports it. People who face a lot of challenges to reach their full potential; either they don’t fit their environment or their environment is not a right fit to them.
